Monarch Plasmid Lysis Buffer (B2) is designed for use with the Monarch Plasmid Miniprep Kit (T1010S/L). The Lysis buffer is used to break open the cells under alkaline conditions in order to release the cellular components, including the plasmid DNA. For easy identification, the buffer is colored blue. This also helps to monitor the completion of the cell lysis step.
